Guys, I am in need of help on subtracting exponents, roots, rational inequalities and quadratic equations. Since I am a novice to Algebra 2, I really want to learn the basics of Algebra 1 completely. Can anyone recommend the best resource with which I can start reading the basics? I have a midterm next week.

Being a professor, this is a comment I usually hear from students. finding the fourth root is not one of the most favorite topics amongst students. I never encourage my pupils to get ready made solutions from the internet, however I do encourage them to use Algebrator. I have developed a liking for this tool over time. It helps the children learn math in an easy to understand way.

Algebrator really is a great piece of math software. I remember having difficulties with equivalent fractions, adding exponents and linear algebra. By typing in the problem from workbook and merely clicking Solve would give step by step solution to the algebra problem. It has been of great help through several Algebra 1, Basic Math and Intermediate algebra. I seriously recommend the program.

Have a look at the lessons available at http://www.algebra-calculator.com/adding-and-subtracting-rational-expressions-with-like-denominators.html. You have abundant information on Remedial Algebra, particularly on adding fractions, angle-angle similarity and binomials. All the best!
