I'm just wondering if someone can give me a few pointers here so that I can understand the basics of algebra in our daily life. I find solving problems really tough. I work part time and thus have no time left to take extra tutoring. Can you guys suggest any online tool that can assist me with this subject?

It always feels nice when I hear that students are willing to put that extra effort into their studies. algebra in our daily life is not a very complex topic and you can easily do some initial work yourself. As a helping tool, I would suggest that you get a copy of Algebrator. This software is quite beneficial when doing math yourself.

I remember having problems with solving a triangle, equivalent fractions and equation properties. Algebrator is a really great piece of math software. I have used it through several algebra classes - Pre Algebra, College Algebra and College Algebra. I would simply type in the problem from a workbook and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
